Performer

Dee is a singer, cellist and pianist. She studied cello with Margaret Moncrieff and Gerard Le Fevre at the Royal College of Music. During her studies at the University of Edinburgh, she became interested in contemporary music, performing new repertoire by living composers notably the Scottish premiere of The Protecting Veil by John Tavener. She studied unaccompanied Bach with Torlief Thedeén.

As her performance work became more embedded in community settings, she went on to study djembe, and West African song with masters of the traditions in The Gambia and Mali.
